Dear Comrade is an intense love story between Bobby (Vijay Deverakonda), a student union leader and Lily (Rashmika Mandanna) a state-level cricketer. Bobby has anger management issues, which he needs to overcome and fight for his love.
"Fight for what you love". The film's caption says it all. Starring Vijay Deverakonda in the lead, this is a much-awaited Summer release. The presence of Rashmika Mandanna is billed to mean a lot.
Directed by Bharat Kamma, the film is slated to hit the screens on May 31 in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada.
With music by Justin Prabhakaran, it has cinematography by Sujith Sarang. Jayakrishna and Rehman have penned the dialogues and lyrics, respectively. Produced by Mythri Movie Makers and Big Ben Cinemas.

Production
The film announcement regarding the making of the film was revealed in around May 2018 and the first look poster of the film was unveiled on 9 May 2018 on the eve of the lead actor Vijay Devarakonda’s birthday. The film was earlier planned to start its shooting procedures by the filmmakers in around June 2018 during its pre-production stage as of May 2018 but was delayed until August 2018 due to various reasons. The film was ceremoniously launched during July 2018.
Casting
Vijay Devarakonda plays the lead role, of a student leader, while Rashmika Mandanna plays the female lead as a cricketer. Putting down speculations, director Bharat confirmed that it is not a remake of Malayalam movie Comrade in America starring Dulquer Salman as the protagonist.
Telugu actor Vijay Deverakonda is all set for his next release titled Dear Comrade opposite Rashmika Mandanna. After much speculations, the film will release on July 26 in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam. The actor made the announcement a day before his birthday.
On Wednesday, Deverakonda took to Twitter to share the date. He wrote, "Comrades, Attention! 26th July 2019," alongside a poster of the film.
